- There are more than 7 billion people living the world today? That means countless CULTURES, languages, traditions and societies.
- The 10 most common languages are as follows:
- Mandarin Chinese
- Hindi (India)
- English
- Spanish
- Bengali (India and Bangladesh)
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Japenese
- German (standard)
- Korean
- CHALLENGE YOURSELF!!! Try to think of a language that is not listed above and look up information on the language, the people who speak the language and their culture!!
- I come from Slavic ancestry on my father's side (Czech, Slovak and Hungarian), so I am going to do some research and incorporate my own knowledge from passed-down traditions on both the Czech (my great-grandfather, John Novak, was Czech) and Slovak (my great-grandmother, Susanna Novak, née Petras, was Slovak) cultures. The Czech and Slovak cultures are very similar in language, traditions and food and are sometimes used synonymously, so I am going to refer to these two cultures as Czechoslovak in my findings.
